Story Time - Pain free blessings

I am notorious for falling down and/or spraining my ankle.

In my adult life, I have been bedridden for this at least 4 times.

For those of you who have been through this, you know how painful it can be to sprain your ankle.

Once, when I went to the doctor with this sprain, the doctor explained to me that it is a small tear in the ligament.

When we think about it, subhanAllah, how a small tear in a ligament can cause such immense pain, we need to realize how grateful we should be for our daily pain-free existence.

Or think about the time you get a cold.

A runny or stuffed nose can cause such annoyance and discomfort, and this should lead us to be grateful for those nose-block-free days.

My friend who is a dentist tells me about the intricate details and layers of a simple tooth. It all just makes us wonder, doesn't it?

In the journey towards the akhirah with our dreams, let us remember to pause for a moment to appreciate those blessings that we take for granted- an unsprained ankle, a pain-free tooth, and a nose-block-free day. Alhamdulillah.

Do you have a painful experience to share that made you appreciate a pain-free existence?
