DreamerMuslimah & Atomic Habits

Working on your dreams means you need to add some productive habits into your life.

James Clears' book Atomic habits suggests ideas on how you can make a habit easy to include in your daily life.

I've used some of his tips to make certain habits easier for me.

For example, Salah. James Clear suggests the idea of removing "resistance"  in other words any small hindrances that may start making doing your habit easy. He gives the example of always placing gym clothes in sight so that it is easier to work out.

I incorporated this idea in a small way to remove resistance for Salah whether fard of nawafil. In Islam it is encouraged to have a designated place for worship in your room (for ladies) and instead of folding my prayer mat, I leave it open along with my prayer gown so that there is least "resistance" between me and my Salah

The other idea of a "keystone" habit. A habit that is integral part of routine and leads to a chain reaction of other habits you want to incorporate. For example, my morning and evening adhkar, I do it after my Fajr and Asr prayer immediately. So because I connect my adhkar with these prayers, I am able to do the chain of habits regularly. Associating a habit I wanted to incorporate with an already existing habit in my life has given me consistent results.
